Dec 05, 2007 Marc Johnson: Skater Of The Year 2007! Podium Distribution and Lakai Ltd Footwear would like to congratulate Marc Johnson for being named Thrasher Magazine's 2007 'Skater of the Year'. MJ originally hails from North Carolina, has spent a great deal of time in San Jose skating with the Tilt Mode crew and has recently settled in the mountains of SoCal. The 'mountain man' just wrapped up filming his acclaimed part in the long awaited Fully Flared video which is due to hit shelves December 7, 2007. Be sure to check it out if you need clarification on why Marc was awarded the SOTY accolade. MJ's sponsors also include Matix Clothing and Chocolate Skateboards. Thrasher's 'Skater of the Year' award began with Tony Hawk in 1990 and has also included MJ's Lakai teammates Mike Carroll and Eric Koston. It is thought to be one of the most esteemed awards in skateboarding. The SOTY party will be held in San Francisco on January 18, 2008 at the Great American Music Hall.
