Hurley in Hawaii, Day 6

"Our second day on the big Island we were to do a demo at the skate park in the town of Wiamea. Before the demo we did a shop signing for Aama surf shop on the way out to Wiamea. The shop signing was really cool, there was a good turnout of both local skaters and just kids who were excited to see the pro's in town. The shop brought out fresh leis for the boy's and fed us an amazing lunch of fresh Ahi hand rolls and teriyaki fried chicken following the signing, then it was off to the park for the demo. Before we hit up the park we pulled off the side of the road to make a traditional big island greeting out of white rocks on top of the black volcanic rock which makes it highly visible for viewing. Once our creation was done we were happy with our mark we left behind hoping it would stay for years to come. When we showed up at the park there was a healthy crowd on hand to hype up the demo and the locals were cool and had a seat once the boy's started ripping the park.

Hurley team riders and Oahu natives Nick Yamasoto and Chris "Applenuts" Awong flew over for the demo and were ripping. Nick killed the 10 foot Peanut pool while the rest of the crew tore up the euro gap and the rest of the park. The kids were beyond stoked to see some real pro's rip their park and do some stuff they had never seen done up the euro gap and around the park. Robert threw out a giant Kickflip out to flat, Nilton flipped over the nice set of tits and James' Nollie Big Spins were amazing. All in all the demo was killer and the crew had a good time skating and talking with the locals. Another day in paradise winded down and we made our way back to Kona to recharge for the next day.
